Nude Wrap
The first of my "recycled" sculptures, this object is wrapped in original gesture drawings on newsprint and then coated with an interference blue pigment.

The Watcher and the Watched
This piece is normally shown in the normal gallery seating and outfitted with a drink and a plate of food. The work plays with the different ways in which viewers react to nudity based upon its context. It is pretty fun at an opening. Customized and hand painted mannequin with custom garment.
picture
The Watcher and the Watched
The fabric on the custom garment is covered with a pattern created from my life drawings of male nudes. I like the idea of a female nude dressed in naked men for some reason...

Core Samples (Detail)
The polaroid photos contain the "trace" of the drawings inside each tube. The CDs contain images of all of the drawings I have done of each individual model. This piece is really about "letting go", as these are models I never expect to be able to work with again.

Core Samples
This piece consists of original drawings, shredded and stuffed into glass tubes. Each tube represents on former model and contains drawings of that model.

The Game(2)
Overview. The chess position is a stalemate, in spite of black's (Death's) overwhelming material superiority.
picture
The Game (Stalemate)
The skeleton is wrapped in original gesture drawings on newsprint. The girl's shawl, in contrast, is printed with a reproduction of a skeleton drawing used as a pattern.
picture
The Game (detail)
The board consists of an original life drawing cut into a grid as the white squares, and a corrospondinggrid of black paper squares on which is drawn a skeleton in the same position. The whole is coated with an interference blue pigment.

The Game (detail)
Note the position of the feet. Death steps on Life's right foot, while she crushes his right foot under her spiked heels.

Sparta
A small scale plaster sculpture, apx. 6" square.
picture
Sparta
From some angles, it looks pretty specific.
picture
Sparta
Just fun, hopefully evocative abstraction.
picture
Sparta
But it isn't designed with any particular orientation in mind.

Sparta
Some angles look masculine, some feminine. I like the two aspects in one piece...
